Who or what is Grok(e) exactly?
Grok -
Verb
to grok (third-person singular simple present groks, present participle grokking, simple past and past participle grokked)
- (transitive, slang) To have an intuitive understanding of; to know (something) without having to think (such as knowing the number of objects in a collection without needing to count them).
- (transitive, slang) To fully and completely understand something in all its details and intricacies.
- He groks Perl.
Originally I created Groka, Grokb, Grokc, Grokd and settled with Groke, partly because Blizzard reserved the name "Grok" and partly because I didn't know what I wanted to play at first. Groke happened to be the incarnation that made it past level 10. Ive been playing since release and have been in and out of some of the best guilds the server has seen. Ive cleared all raid content in two expansions but not vanilla due to my pvp obsession at the time. The mage has always been my favorite class and I'm constantly looking for ways to get better. This blog is dedicated to all things "mage" and hopefully will lead to improving my, and others', knowledge base.
On a personal note I'm not what one would consider "hard core" in that I dont play all day every day, only nearly. I go to college full time and am a practicing digital artist so my day is often packed. I'm not "casual" either, I do research, typically clear all content, and usually am in the top tiers of pvp when I take it seriously. For me, min/maxing is the second most enjoyable aspect of MMOs next to ganking. Yes that's right I'm a ganker, though I never corpse camp. I retired from WoW sometime during patch 2.9. I recently came back (beginning of March 2008). Unfortunately due to time constraints and dwindling gold I have chosen to stick soley to PVE until dual specs are released. Therefore this blog will focus on PVE until that time.
If you have comments/corrections/criticisms/suggestions please point them out via comments, emails, or even whispers in game. I am by no means perfect, and input is always welcome.
Last but not least I love to shoot the breeze and answer questions, so feel free to send a whisper in game.
