Beautiful Twilight

First OS 25, much less 3 drake, and I won the drake. Thanks goes out to all my guildmates.

3d Drakes is easier than I thought, though there is quite a lot to keep up with. Here are some tips for mages to help stay alive.

-OMG BLINK! No seriously, if you are good at judging blink distance it can save your life, you are however bad at judging the distance it can cost you your life. Use this with caution. You can actually blink THROUGH firewall.

=If you want to stack dps meters as arcane get a 3 stack of AB on Sarth before first drake drops, be careful to do it slowly so as not to pull agro (rare but can happen if tank isnt paying attention since most people dont dps until first drake comes down)

=Wait for the tank to call out to AE. If your tank doesnt call out when his threat is good ask him to, if he refuses, learn what to watch for. Its always best for the add tank himself to call for the AE but a keen eye can often be just as good. Unrelenting likes to put off the adds as long as possible in lieu of downing the drakes asap.

-Moving out of circles and away from flame walls > dps

=Dont forget fire ward in a pinch. If you just KNOW you are going to get hit by a firewall iceblock, if its down 1) you already fail 2) use blink, if blink is down, use mana shield + fire ward in an absolute "oh shit" emergency to save your life.***
***A note on mana shield: Possibly one of the most underrated spells in the game. Never use it out of fear or during a burn phase, as it will eat through mana horribly. However a manaless mage can wand and recover mana, a dead mage cant. Mana shield can often mean the difference between that split second heal if you know you about to get smacked (or are in the process of it). Just remember to CLICK IT OFF once the danger has passed.

-A rising void is less dangerous than one which is about to disappear, remember that the spike dmg at the end is the killer. This doesnt mean you should finish your arcane missiles or ffb when one spawns at your feet, they are dangerous nonetheless, it does however mean you shouldnt ever risk running through one you already see up.

-The fight is all about environmental awareness, avoid the aes and put out as much dps as possible.

=Essential to have some good designated people to call things in vent as per usual raid encounter, but for this guy even more so in the case of the fire walls. definitely not the easiest fight in the game though still easier than a lot of TBC encounters.
